No more excuses for burns while cooking! But you have to use them!

Years ago when people said potholders, I pictured the ones we made in a crafts with looms

or the cotton potholders with random "kitchen" themed pictures such as tomatoes, spices bottles, etc. But this pot holders did very little to keep our hands from burning, it took a few layers of them to keep real heat from our hands. Then a few years back, probably a more than a few but I digress, there came the initial silicone oven mitts and pot holders. They had restrictions that did not allow you to use them for things over 400 degrees.

The oven mittens by KUUK are brilliant to say the least. I have been able to use these to pull things out of the oven up until 450 degree oven without feeling even a second of heat. I have used them on my cast iron dutch oven which holds heat more than any other and no carry over heat to my hands. We have used these to pull out hot nachos from the oven as well. How I became a brand influencer and product reviewer

First off, you need to have a blog, a Paypal account, and Amazon Prime is almost a necessity for Tomoson users but I am putting the cart before the horse...

One day I was reading a random blog and it was a review of some random product and the woman said something about Tomoson being who she was "working" for by writing this review for. I binged the word Tomoson and came to the site tomoson.com and was amazed to see that people could apply to get free products as long as they posted to all of the required social media accounts showing the products and either you using the products or words about the products. Another aspect is most of the companies really require that you write them an Amazon product and seller review in addition to a blog post. Sometimes you can get a small fee for completing these tasks and this varies from company to company and blogger to blogger. To start you have to take the products open to everyone and pray for someone to approve you. Then as your numbers and audience grows you will be able to apply for more of the products and even products and companies start coming to you without you having to do any of the work.

I am trying really hard to learn how to write a good blog that gives the reader information that truly involves the product and is my unbiased and honest opinion of the product I have been given to try out. Some of the companies will start sending you emails the day you get the product asking for a review the day you get it delivered. I do not believe in that especially not vitamins and facial products. Most products, in my opinion should be used more than once before I give my opinion so I like to have the item in my possession and being used regularly for at least a week to generate real, honest, unbiased opinions. Other brand influencers and product testers and reviewers may see this different.

This week's review is a company, Planted Perfect is garden pruning shears. I got the first pair in the mail. I took the picture of the fresh out of the Amazon package, then I took them out of the product package and left them on the counter for maybe an hour or two. My kids are 9 and 14 and my youngest was gone and I really did not think anything about having these on the counter. My daughter leaves her room for three things food, Dance and to leave with her friends. So hours later I look at the shears and the safety latch is gone. No where to be seen, not broken just missing from the whole universe. My daughter's story is she just opened it and it popped off. Now these are heavy duty shears, I have used them and they are heavy like lead heavy. She had to have fiddled with this piece, but none the less it did come off. I emailed the company and they did replace the shears and they were super awesome about the replacement and I received it quicker than a raccoon on a sugar biscuit. I have used them in my garden and they cut through things I never thought they could. Loved them. Here is my video. This product makes me #hippiehappy.

Working out old school-- Jumping Rope and Punching Bag.

This month has been throwback exercising in our house-- jumping rope and punching bag.

Forged Champion Adjustable Speed Ropes is a quality product, my ability to do hardcore cardio is not quality. Jumping rope is a lot harder than any of us thought but we as a family will keep at it. The length is adjustable which I loved but I didn't know what to do with the extra except for rolling it around my hand. I am happy with the product and the exercise it gives me it is just gonna take a bit of time to get this 38 year old body used to doing an activity that I have not done regularly since I was about ten but the childlike skill mixed with the great cardio makes this a #hippiehappy product.

Now the freestanding punching bag was a god send. We had been throwing around the idea of a punching bag for stress relief for our household but did not have a place in the house to mount it. Then I was able to apply to review this and I was very skeptical but this has been awesome. Velocity Boxing has created a heavy duty freestanding punching bag that is listed as a children's pro product but I use it every day. I love the arm work out as well as the stress relief rolled all into one. My kids both love it as well. We have kept it in a common space so everyone can use it every day. Beginning to be an expert, at least I know what I like.

This has to be the fourth or fifth Hyaluronic Acid and or Vitamin C serum I have used since January. Each one has a little different consistency, a different smell if any smell at all, and only a few have had any effect on my face at all. As with all of my other facial reviews, I keep most of my routine the same: I wash my face every morning with Noxzema and warm water scrubbing with a http://danyelmcdaniel.blogspot.com/2015/06/another-konjac-sponge-and-another-day.html sponge and then I get out one of my serums this time it is New Radiance Naturals Hyaluronic Acid Serum. I am using this and a face cream after it.

I have to say I have not noticed major changes to my face while using this serum, but it has kept my face refreshed looking and I have been under some stress for the last month and I would say this has helped me keep up the appearances that I am feeling and looking better on the outside than I am feeling on the inside.

Great theory but putting in practice is never the same

There are people on Facebook that wax intellectual about theories about life and improving your soul or parenting etc but they are really better at typing out and hatching these theories then they are putting these theories in practice. But most of us our, it is always easier to say what you are going to do rather actually doing.

I have been guilty of having grandiose ideas that never get seen to fruition. The biggest example of that is the three novels I have sitting in a folder on a few flash drives unpublished. That is why I initially switched my blog from an author blog to a product review blog, I didn't want to stop writing but I just didn't want to start another new novel until I had finished what I had started.

The last face to face conversation I had with my grandmother before she passed was I told her about on off my books I had written that was partially inspired by her and a few other women in my life. She loved the idea and was so proud of the concepts and the plot. I told her I hoped to publish it this summer and now that she has passed I feel I have to keep that verbal promise to her and to myself. Which is why I am trying to get ahead and caught up on my product reviews just as my work year ends= writing/editing time for DANY = #hippiehappy.

I used the Safe Skins Spiral Slicer on zucchini and carrots and loved the easy of slicing it made. The compact size and bag make for easy storage and that is so nice when cabinet space is at a premium in our house. I found that the slices and the core that came out was just as enjoyable for the soup I used the slices for.
I was #hippiehappy with this slicer. I did not have easy of use with the lid to be a hands free slicer because of the size of the organic veggies I was using.

Booty FRESH and Hi-Jinks

When I was approached to do a review for this product, they ask if you are comfortable talking about bathroom hi-jinks. That's the words I will use to refer to toilet time because Hi-jinks just sounds better. And that is a word needs brought back in my opinion.

When I looked up this product, another product popped up Poo-pouri. Which is a scent neutralizer for your shit-- sorry no nice what to say that. You finish your hi-jinks and you spray this product and you leave a nice smell behind. Meant for when you go to someone else's house and don't want to leave traces of your hi-jinks. Now I had never heard of this until I was researching BOOTY FRESH and then the bots in my computer starting leaving this other hi-jinks product ad on the sidelines almost daily. Then one day I saw a real commercial for the stuff. Funny @ss commercial, pun intended.

Now BOOTY FRESH is not to cover up the scent left behind in the bathroom after your hi-jinks. Booty Fresh is to spray on your booty after the hi-jinks are over or in the shower to help prevent any scent from being created. It is not meant to substitute wiping after hi-jinks. It does keep you feeling fresh without any overbearing smell or weird cloths. Just a few sprays on your cute tush allow it to stay there for 3-5 minutes then wipe off. I cannot say I always wiped it off and I did not have any irritation. I loved this product so much I give it a #hippiehappy approval.

The more we move forward the more we need to step back

Recently I have been talking with my husband and others about eye opening factoids and stories I have been hearing about my grandparents and great grandparents childhoods. Where the information from the movies and the history books are not quite adding up to the same real life stories that are finally releasing from the lips of the older generations or we are finally of an age that we are allowed to hear the truths for the first time. For decades I thought the divorces of the 90s were new and our parents generation were a disgrace to their parents because no one was staying together. We were all coming from broken homes, yet if I would have thought about it for a moment both sets of my grandparents contained at least one divorce and remarry on each side. But since that occurred before I was born it was not really discussed.

Then there was the villianization of cigarettes and the usage of them. Ask many people in their 50s and 60s who smoked at one point and many will tell you they start very young in their childhood. Maybe I just live in Hickville Ohio but many as young as ten when they tried their first cigarette. Now as parents those numbers I would say have moved for the positive to much older. Yet where are the stories talking about how cigarette smoking among teens and children is at an all time low. No ticker taper parade for parents or the schools for education in anti-smoking.

I also used to think that kids were having sex younger and younger because of that MTV, because of the KARDASHIANS, because of the INTERNET, because of DANCING, because of ROCK N ROLL MUSIC... AND LONG HAIR...AND FREE THOUGHT...

We are just another brick in the wall...I digress.

My point is in this world we are doing a lot of things right. We are making breakthroughs that should be celebrated, and never fall to complacency.

One of our complacencies is cell phones and the over priced covers you buy from the cell carriers. Last year my husband was convinced by the man at The V carrier store to buy the water proof case that made his phone invincible. This case was almost like a hundred dollars. This is ridiculous unless you need to be in a shark tank with your phone this is unnecessary and totally seems like a scam. There had to be other cases. So I started doing research and trying different, lower priced but good quality cases off Amazon. You don't get a case in your hand that day but with Amazon Prime. I can have it in 2 days which is not too bad and I love getting packages.

The phone case I am reviewing today is by Abacus24-7 LG G4 Wallet Case with Flip Cover. I absolutely love having my id, credit card and a few loyalty cards in with my cell and I can pull that out of my purse and not have to carry my whole purse into the store or shopping. This case completely protects the screen because the covers flips across the front when you are not using the phone and stays closed. This was like having a phone case and a wristlet in one. This made me #hippiehappy.

BEST SHEETS IN MY LIFE, I am having a hard time sharing the bed with my hubby they are that good

Years ago they came out with soft tshirt sheets and I thought they were the cats pajamas. They didn't take five years worth of washing to get that level of softness that we all wanted. Then there was the fad of flannel sheets but they were way too hot for my liking, they were comfy but I would wake up sweating like I have been exercising in my sleep.

Then Tomoson had an 100% Authentic Tencel Bed Sheet Set up for review, I was so excited to be approved even though I had no idea what Tencel was. I assumed it was not rough or they would not be advertising 100% authentic. According to WISEGEEK.com, "Tencel® is the registered trade name for a type of lyocell, a biodegradable material made from wood pulp cellulose. Often said to be environmentally friendly, it is fully biodegradable and made from trees managed for sustained harvest."

So they are not made from any plastics or man made products, that makes me #hippiehappy. That is saying nothing of the extremely soft nature of the sheets. The only negative is they are so comfy I have a hard time getting out of bed because I want to hit snooze and stay in the comfy cloud of happiness forever.

Better than fruit based cords

I will never understand how companies can charge hundreds of dollars for a cellular phone then give you a charging cord that will last a regular user less than a year, for a teen user the cord lasts about three months. I personally believe said fruit named company makes these sub par cords for financial reasons so people will buy more from them, because in their booklets it distinctly says to only use fruit based company product cords with their i fruits. It took me over a year to convince my husband that it was okay to use 3rd party cords with his fruit phone.

This LINKYO cord has a few amazing things that the original cord completely misses the boat with
1. Flat cord
2. reinforced connectors
3. Faster charging the fruit cord

What makes me most #hippiehappy about this cord is not having to buy a new cord every three months. The quality and thickness of the cord is amazing and I have a feeling this cord will out last the 5C.

Fish head (tweezers) Fish Head (tweezers) Rolly Polly

Usually I like to have a product a week or two before I write a review for Tomoson because I think you need to use things for a while before you truly know how well something will work. As soon as I used these fish head tweezers and I knew immediately how awesome they were. I have had companies in the past request I do a review on the day that I receive their product from my friendly UPS man (KlipPro is NOT one of those companies) and I kindly have emailed them back explaining to them that I am an honest reviewer that if they were looking for just a review then I was not their gal. I would use their product for at least a week, multiple weeks if it is a supplement or a facial product to give the product a chance to work. I think its in the companies best interest for me to take my time and use their product the right way. . I digress, meaningfully though.

KlipPro from Whole Health Supply LLC has created an amazing tweezer shaped like a fish.

I have no idea if the awesomeness of these tweezers have anything to do with their shape. Maybe. I am not a physicist. I know they pull out the eyebrow hairs perfectly, not painlessly. But perfectly none the less. Getting back to why I am evaluating this now, I can only use this so much before I will start to look like Pink in the THE WALL (he shaved all his eye brows off, it is super creepy.) You can only pluck so much, and my brows look good I think, better than I have ever done on my own without going to a salon to have them waxed. And plucking is a one time cost for the tweezers, which is super low for these only $7.25 on AMAZON. I have bought more expense at the corner drug store and they sucked compared the these awesome FISH shaped ones. You may be saying, Danyel I don't need flounder shaped tweezers. But I say, you need kick @ss tweezers that do a great job. And these do that, regardless of the shape. Buy them, you will not regret it.

You would think the off brand would be worse, but this is better than what APPLE made

My family have been using ipods and iphones for five years now and my biggest complaint besides the yearly upgrade is the cheap cords they include in their products. They make products that they want to be part of your every day life ie ipod or iphone which require at least daily or bidaily (i am just making up my own words now.) charges and yet the charging cables they provide you starts fraying and shitting out on you in a few months if you are a rough user and maybe you get three fourths a year if you are super gentle with your cord.

Then Apple tells you not to use 3rd party products in conjunction with their products and I am sure there are people that believe this and only buy Apple brand products. I have bought replacements usually some generic thing at the local CVS or Walgreens when the inevitable cord frazzle occurs.

Power Bank, where have you been all of my life?

I love this Sentey Power Bank Portable Charger 2800mah. I am the type of person that is constantly saying "If you cannot get ahold of me its because my phone is dead and I forgot my charger at home." This is the product for me. The power bank charges itself quickly and then the phone charges a cell phone quickly.

I loved this and now with my daughter leaving on vacation for Washington DC this will be perfect for her to take for the bus ride when she will not be able to charge for long periods of time.



She actually came up to us this week and asked if we could take her and buy one for her trip and I was able to tell her about Sentey's power bank. I was promoting within my own family, it was sweet and shows that truly a good product we will tell someone who will tell someone and so forth. Because chances are she will take this on the trip and share the wealth with others on the bus of 8th graders. That will be the true test of this Power Bank. This review took me a little longer than most to complete because the product itself said it may take up to two weeks for the product to take full effect. Second time a charm but not the third or maybe reverse that.

Adeline has hit the nail on the head with Their product Anti-Aging Moisturizer, I want to rub it every where :)This smells like heaven in a bottle to me, a little manly in scent but so great to my senses both in texture and in smell. It goes on light and absorbs very quickly and I felt like the difference in my skin was instant and long lasting. This bottle stays in my purse in case I forget to put something on or if I want something extra later on in the day. I also have given it to my husband who has eczema on his face, it really is for all facial types-- which I just realized today it said on the bottle after many weeks of using this product. Then there is their other product I tested for them their eye serum, this did made me #nothippiehappy. It was not the consistency I like and showed no results for me. Now maybe the Anti-aging moisturizer was so amazing that this was just pale in comparison. I don't know. It was not in the same category of product which was disappointing but I loved the Anti-Aging moisturizer so much that nothing next to it would be even close.
