This product heating up and straightening ability is not a problem at all. It has a great thick cord that did not tangle at all. The first thing this I had issue with was there was no changeable temperature for the straightener. Next this did not have a shut off if you accidentally left it on for hours. This is a concern for my teen uses one all the time and it gets left sitting on a end table or counter. I was #nothippiehappy with this product it cost more than ones in the store yet did not produce better straightness or more options.
